Neil Ruben, a Corporate law attorney at Finn Dixon & Herling was recently appointed co-chair of the Mergers and Acquisitions Committee of the Business Law Section of the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA). The appointment took place at the NYSBA’s annual meeting in January and will become effective in June 2025. At that time, Neil will help the Committee advance its goal of professional networking and education among New York barred business lawyers involved in mergers and acquisitions, including by curating panels and CLEs.
In January, Neil was also appointed a member of the Executive Committee of the Business Law Section. The Business Law Section, with a membership of approximately 3,500, is one of the largest sections of the NYSBA and has been at the forefront of introducing, monitoring and evaluating legal developments in the areas of business and finance on both federal and New York State levels and is involved in the publication of the NY Business Law Journal. There are a host of committees in the section that meet regularly to review current developments in their areas. These committees include Bankruptcy; Banking; Business Organizations; Franchise, Distribution and Licensing, Derivatives and Structured Products; Securities Regulation; and the evolving area of Technology and Venture Law.
Mr. Ruben has been a member of the NYSBA and the Business Law section since 2011. In recent years, he has been a moderator at NYSBA panels and CLEs, and has co-moderated a number of sessions on topics related to mergers and acquisitions and private equity. In addition to the NYSBA, he is a member of the Fairfield County Bar Association, the Connecticut Bar Association and the American Bar Association and is admitted to practice in New York and Connecticut. He has been named as an “Up and Coming” attorney for Corporate/M&A by Chambers and Partners in 2023 and 2024.
