Finn Dixon & Herling LLP served as legal counsel to the executor of an estate, alongside the administrator's probate counsel, and secured a favorable settlement and dismissal with prejudice of a federal lawsuit seeking to collect more than $50 million in estate taxes, penalties, and interest. The matter involved an issue of first impression in Connecticut, and the team's advocacy in the investigation and litigation phases was critical in securing a resolution with the Department of Justice.

The FDH team included Litigation partner Deirdre M. Daly, counsel Matthew Danzer, associate Eli Yampel; Tax partner Michael Spiro; and senior litigation paralegal Catherine Sommer.
