Spencer is an associate in the Corporate group. His practice includes mergers and acquisitions, private equity, venture capital, and general corporate representation.
Spencer has experience representing clients on buy-side and sell-side transactions ranging from under $10 million to more than $7 billion, including carveouts, take-privates, joint ventures, continuation funds, and other complex matters.
Prior to joining FDH, Spencer was a PE/M&A Associate at Kirkland & Ellis LLP in San Francisco, where he managed all aspects of M&A transactions for sponsor clients and advised on corporate governance, equity matters, and financing arrangements. He also previously worked at the National Basketball Association focusing on league-wide compensation strategy and data analytics, and at Synchrony Financial where he supported executive compensation leadership and program design for more than 10,000 employees.
Spencer earned his JD/MBA from the University of Chicago Law School and Booth School of Business, and his BS in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University.
Outside of the office, Spencer enjoys snowboarding, cooking, and traveling.
