Yale University engaged FDH partner and former United States Attorney Deirdre M. Daly to conduct an independent investigation of complaints of sexual misconduct against a former Yale School of Medicine professor.
The FDH team conducted a six-month investigation and interviewed over 100 witnesses. Their work culminated in the issuance of a detailed public report finding that the professor sexually assaulted five students and committed acts of sexual misconduct against nine other students or recent graduates over almost three decades. The report discusses Yale’s oversight role finding that in the 1990s the University failed to implement a meaningful monitoring program that might have detected the professor’s ongoing misconduct. The President of the University publicly expressed his gratitude for the detailed factual report and its “excellent recommendations.” See Yale University public statement.
