Evan is an experienced trial lawyer who represents sophisticated clients in a broad range of complex civil litigation and securities enforcement matters. He has experience litigating in state and federal courts across the country and is the co-chair of the firm’s Litigation group.

Evan regularly represents the firm’s private equity clients in litigation related to their M&A activity.  Evan has experience advising on and litigating business divorce cases and defending clients in civil regulatory enforcement actions. Evan also regularly advises the firm’s clients before litigation is commenced.  

Evan’s experience litigating complex civil matters and familiarity with M&A litigation has made him a go-to litigator for the firm’s long-standing private equity clients.  Evan’s practical approach and his focus on the client’s long-term strategic goals allow him to manage and resolve disputes efficiently and effectively for his clients.

Evan is the co-chair of the firm’s Litigation group.  Before joining the firm, he practiced in the litigation group at Simpson Thacher & Barlett LLP in New York. He joined the firm in 2015 and became a partner in 2018.  Outside the office, Evan enjoys coaching his kids’ sports teams and training for and competing in half-ironman triathlons, with pipe-dreams of completing a full-distance event in the near future. 

Representative Matters
  • Member of trial team that successfully defended insider trading action brought by SEC against employee of publicly traded corporation, resulting in a jury verdict for client on all counts.
  • Obtained dismissal of breach of contract and fraud claims arising out of sale of portfolio company in SDNY.
  • Won summary judgment and dismissal of case  in Delaware Superior Court related to earn-out agreement associated with acquisition of portfolio company.
  • Successfully litigated breach of contract and fraud case related to sale of shares in start-up crypto business in federal court in California.
