Ed has practiced in the area of finance law for over 35 years.

He has extensive experience representing both borrowers and lenders in unsecured and secured finance transactions, including acquisition and other leveraged lending, asset-based lending, cash-flow lending, syndicated credit transactions (both club deals and large syndicated transactions), and maritime and real estate finance. He has represented numerous senior and mezzanine creditors in complex subordination/intercreditor arrangements. He has also worked on a large number of workouts and other restructurings.

Ed has represented major national and regional banks and finance companies, private equity funds and mezzanine funds.  He has also represented numerous borrowers in a wide range of businesses. His experience includes the following:

  • Acquisition financings (both senior and mezzanine) for companies in diverse fields such as maritime and other transportation, printing, manufacturing and e-commerce
  • Syndicated credit transactions
  • Asset-based lending transactions
  • Complex restructurings/workouts
  • Lease financing transactions including maritime charters
  • Private note placements
  • Sale of distressed debt
After first joining the firm in 1988 as an associate, Ed then practiced as a partner in the firm’s Debt Finance group for over 30 years.  At the beginning of 2023, Ed transitioned from partner to of counsel.
